Learn to Sail Courses

Yacht & Boat Clubs
There are almost 100 clubs and 40 training centres throughout Victoria and with that quantity, there is likely to be one that suits your needs. Sailing and boating clubs are a great place to start sailing and make new friends.

Many clubs have learn to sail programs where you can learn the basics or you can buy or rent a boat and get help from the other members to start sailing. You can participate in other activities that are not formal training, but still offer the experience you are looking for. Many clubs offer twilight sailing in the summer months, which provides the opportunity to improve your sailing skills in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Make sure the training centre you select is an accredited Yachting Australia Centre. Not only does this provide you with an assurance of quality and that all instructors are appropriately qualified but you will be issued with a log book and certificates that are recognised throughout Australia, if you wish to progress to higher levels at any time in the future.

The newest training centre is The Boat shed at Albert Park. www.theboatshed.net.au
